ID Insight Named Finalist for 11th Annual Tekne Awards
Minnesota High Tech Association to recognize state’s top technology companies and individuals at Nov. 3 awards ceremony
NORTHFIELD, MINN. (September 13, 2010) — For the second year in a row, the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA) has named data and analytics company ID Insight as a finalist in the Technology Services category for the Tekne Awards, which will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Wednesday, Nov. 3. The Tekne Awards recognize Minnesota companies and individuals who have shown superior technology innovation and leadership.
ID Insight’s original – and continuing – mission is to be the innovation leader of data-and-analytic-driven solutions that address identity theft in the financial industry. The company’s breakthrough product, Safe2Change, continues to be the standard for financial services to intelligently and efficiently manage the risk associated with address changes. Safe2Change uses predictive data and analytics to perform an empirically-driven risk assessment at fractions of the time and cost of manual methods, allowing financial institutions to reduce their costs and fraud exposure while protecting consumers from identity theft.
In 2009, the company built on that foundation to expand its reach into the broadband industry. As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, more than $7 billion was carved out to bring broadband internet to every household. To roll out this national broadband plan, it was first necessary to understand where broadband internet connectivity exists, but there was no comprehensive national map of broadband connectivity. ID Insight created a new analytic survey process to create this critical map, and today, the company’s first-of-its-kind solution, BroadBand Scoutsm, is being used by broadband carriers, communities and government entities as the backbone to the national broadband plan.
Presented by the MHTA in partnership with the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota, LifeScience Alley, and Enterprise Minnesota, the Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota’s best and brightest technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management. A full list of finalists is available online at www.tekneawards.org.
“The Tekne Awards recognize those whose leadership and dedication to technological development helps demonstrate Minnesota as a global player in technology-based markets,” said MaryFrances Schurb, interim president of MHTA. “This year’s finalists should be extremely proud of their role in helping Minnesota excel.”
